Kony killings irk Govt

THE Government has condemned the inhuman attack on innocent civilians in northern Uganda and the gruesome massacre and abduction of innocent people by LRA rebels, reports Juliet Nankinga.A statement released over the weekend by the state information minister, Basoga Nsadhu, described the attack as cowardly and barbaric. It said the attacks showed that Kony lacked a political agenda and his lust to kill innocent people and destroy property.Kony rebels on Wednesday night hacked to death at least 48 people, most them the elderly and infants, in Muchwini sub-county, 14 miles from Kitgum. The Government sent condolences to the bereaved.“Meanwhile, the Government has assured the people in the north that it was doing everything possible to end this misery,” the statement said.
