I love music and dance

Dear Counsellor,I am an eleven year old girl in P.6. My mother complains that I spend too much time in extra curricular activities. Indeed I love music, dance and drama so much that I do not think I would study well without participating in them. My mother claims that if I am to improve on my academic performance then I have to concentrate on books. What can I do?P.N— MpigiDear P.N,Extra curricular activities are not bad if they are given the right time. These activities are healthy. However, if you get involved in music, dance and drama in excess, at the expense of of your studies, then it can lead to poor academic performance. Get a counsellor to guide you on how to balance studies with other activities.
