By Okello JabweliTHE Reform Agenda wants local government minister Bidandi Ssali probed over the sh1b allegedly he shared out with CMI chief Col. Mayombo and Faizal Kasujja. The money reportedly came from President Yoweri Museveni.Addressing a press conference at Parliament on Friday, Mbarara Municipality MP Winnie Byanyima said the Reform Agenda would shortly write to the Speaker calling for a full probe into the matter.“We are asking Parliament to set up a committee to investigate CMI operations and all classified accounts. We expect Parliament to move in, not just on Col. Mayombo but also on President Museveni, Bidandi, Kasujja and all those involved,” she said.“How can we have public funds coming from President Museveni’s private assistant’s personal account to Mayombo’s personal account and then to the personal accounts of Bidandi and Kasujja? Is this normal?” she asked. She said the accounts were not known to the Auditor General and thus prone to abuse.Byanyima on Tuesday told journalists that tax-payers sh1b had been shared out by the three officials.Mayombo and Bidandi acknowledged the money but said it was not for their personal use.He instead accused the Reform Agenda of engaging in treasonable deals.Ends
