MAKERERE University has directed former Ntungamo woman MP Naome Kabasharira and three others to return the university’s original degree certificates within three months or face arrest and prosecution.

By John EremuMAKERERE University has directed former Ntungamo woman MP Naome Kabasharira and three others to return the university’s original degree certificates within three months or face arrest and prosecution.The four, including former Bukoto West Parliamentary candidate, Stephens Elliot Muhumuza, Stephen Kulany Chelangat and Henry Kajungu, had their results cancelled last year over forgery and impersonation.The Academic Registrar, Sebastian Ngobi, said Kabasharira impersonated Asiimwe Anne K. Reg. No. 87/586 and forged a Bachelors of Arts academic transcript.“You are accordingly informed that you must return to the university the original degree certificate and all the academic transcripts that you obtained from the university within a period not exceeding three months,” Ngobi said in the July 18, 2002 letters.The letters were copied to among others, Inspector General of Police Maj. Gen. Katumba Wamala.Ends
