HUNDREDS of mourners yesterday thronged All Saints Church, Nakasero, for the funeral service of the former vice-chairman of the Military Commission, Gad Wilson Toko, reports James Odong.A message from the widow, Reste, who was with Toko at the time of the crash, said the late was a loving husband, a caring father and a selfless man who committed his life to restoring peace in West Nile. Toko died on Sunday morning in a motor accident near Jinja town. Reste is still admitted to Mulago hospital.Prime Minister Prof. Apollo Nsibambi described Toko as a ‘diligent peace maker’, whose reconciliation approach resulted into the current peace and stability in the west Nile region.He said despite the fact that Toko lost power to the NRM, he advised the people of west Nile against fighting it.The archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Livingstone Nkoyooyo, said Toko cherished peace till his death and urged to Ugandans to be peace lovers, peace keepers and peace makers.“I want to appeal to those who are pursuing peace in the north to be serious with what they are doing,” Nkoyooyo said.Ends
