Health state minister Mike Mukula has denied declaring a goat and a Mont Blanc ball-pen he received as part of his wealth to the Inspector General of Government (IGG) as reported in the press.

The Leadership Code Act 2002 says a leader may accept a gift in the nature of a souvenir or ornament when the value does not exceed sh100,000.“The goat was worth sh30,000. I received it from a local chief at victory celebrations for Jonam county MP Jachan Omach in Nebbi district,” Mukula said. He said he passed the goat to the RDC to give it to a youth group that presented a poem on HIV/AIDS. Mukula said he got a Mont Blanc ball-pen as a gift by the head of a visiting US delegation.Ends
