UGANDA is set to test Cameroon in the first tie of the Confederation of Africa Rugby (CAR) Six Nations tournament at Kampala Rugby Union Football Club (KRUFC) today.
A curtain raiser match between the national U-21 and the counterparts from Kenya, who arrived here yesterday, will precede the anticipated thriller.
“The boys are ready after two months of training, I am pretty confident that they will put up resistance infront of the opponents,” national coach, Yayiro Kasasa, revealed.
Right winger Allan Musoke, who scooped man-of-match award after leading Uganda to victory with two splendid tries against Zambia last year, will be relied on again as he teams upon with experienced flankers Peter Magona, Herbert Wafula and Robert Seguya.
Brothers Fred and Timothy Mudoola will also be crucial for Uganda’s victory against a side that has tall, huge and seemingly athletic players.
“We have a perfect game plan that will leave Cameroon bamboozled at Kampala today,” said Kasasa, who called upon fans to give players the necessary morale.
Cameroon beat Uganda 18-0 in the World Cup qualifiers last year at Doula.
Cameroon’s play maker Allain Tsimi said that nothing would stop them from thumping Uganda.
“We know the crowds will not be behind us but we shall silence them,” he said.
