She Kobs’ Africa Women’s Championship qualifying campaign was yesterday dented by a loss to their Ethiopian counterparts.
The national women’s soccer team failed to recover from two early goals in the qualifier at Wanju stadium in Ethiopia,
The Ugandans regained their composure to dominate the second half, but failed to get onto the scoreboard.
They now need to beat Ethiopia 3-0 in the return leg in Kampala to be able to qualify for the continental finals. Nigeria will host the finals in November. The team returns home today.

JACKSON Mayanja’s URA Lyantonde resumed their campaign for fourth place by beating relegated Military Nile in a Nile Special Super League tie yesterday. David Kiwanuka scored the lone goal.
