THREE armed thugs robbed an unspecified amount of cash and property from passengers aboard a Kampala-bound vehicle on Monday .
The robbery took place at Mayanja village on the Mityana-Kampala road.
The passengers, who were travelling from Mityana aboard a Isuzu pick up truck were astounded when gun-wielding gangsters suddenly sprung out of the nearby bushes.
Kampala Central CID chief Dison Onyiggi yesterday said, “There was no shooting and no one was injured in the incident. The thugs just wanted money which they got and then melted away,†Onyiggi said. This is the first such incident along the road within two months. Officers at the central police station said the incident could signal the resurgence of robberies. Ends
