Premier Prof. Apolo Nsibambi has written to ethics and integrity minister Mrs. Miria Matembe, asking her to explain her recent remarks that male MPs make overtures to their female colleagues, report Joyce Namuteb
and Hamis Kaheru.

Parliamentary affairs minister Okot Ogong said this in a statement to Parliament yesterday.
Matembe’s alleged remarks have angered MPs who have asked her to explain it to the House.
Ogong said Matembe was out of the country on official duty but would give a “contextual meaning” of her statements when she returns. “The Prime Minister has written a letter to that effect,” he said.
Matembe was quoted by the press as having asked male MPs to stop demanding sex from their female colleagues. “When I come to the House to legislate, look at me as a colleague,” Matembe reportedly told a civic educators trainers’ workshop organised by the Young Parliamentary Association in Jinja recently.
