The red carpet is not for rugged vehicles

There was drama on Independence Day at Kololo airstrip on Wednesday. PPU and security officials had no regard for the red carpet that had been laid down for President Museveni and his guest, Nigerian leader, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Just to show how low they could stoop, they drove and parked a Land Rover full of military men clad in bullet proof vests on the red carpet, which had been painstakingly hoovered for the best part of the morning!
