The Rev. Dr. Nicodemus Okille, the Anglican bishop of Bukedi Diocese, has described as uncouth and barbaric, the killing of 52 people by the Lords Resistance Army rebels in Agago county in Gulu, last Friday.

“Who will you (Kony) rule if in a day you round up 52 defenseless civilians and burn them. I appeal to those involved in the conflict in northern Uganda to take their grievances to the round table. The gun will never solve any conflict,” Okille said.

He was on Tuesday speaking at the burial of Rogers Jasa, 52, the Prime Minister of the Tieng Adhola cultural institution who died on Sunday after a long illness.

The function took place in Mulanda village.

Henry Obbo, the state minister for labour and industrial relations and Ofwono Opondo, the Movement director of Information attended.

Bishop Okille’s sermon was preceded by a speech by the West Budama cultural leader, the Tieng Adhola Moses Steven Owor.
