OVER sh4m was raised last Saturday at the Aboke girls Charity fun race at Lincoln International school, Lubowa.

Hundred percent of the proceeds will be used by the charity to pay school fees for boys and girls who have been rescued or escaped from the Lords Resistance Army (LRA) rebellion in northern Uganda.

In a run that attracted 290 competitors, Alex Matovu posted 40 minutes 38 seconds to beat a strong field of participants on a soggy ten-kilometre track.

The five-kilometre race was won by Frank Bwambale in 17:29 minutes.

The run that was organised by the international school was meant to raise funds for the Aboke girls project.
