Where’s our money in Moyo?

SIR— In spite of several inquiries about the fate of salary arrears for teachers in Moyo district (1997-2001), the concerned authorities in the district have been very evasive on the matter.

SIR— In spite of several inquiries about the fate of salary arrears for teachers in Moyo district (1997-2001), the concerned authorities in the district have been very evasive on the matter.
To make matters worse, when our neighbouring district of Arua received its release and we requested for our share, we were told to fill the forms again.
We teachers in Moyo never raised any dust when some teachers in other districts went on strike because of non-payment of salary arrears.
Being law abiding people, we humbly request the Ministry of Education to do the following urgently before we lay down our tools on Monday, November 11 at 8.30am.
1. Publish the list of districts that have received salary arrears so that we clear our district leaders of suspicion.
2. Explain to us the arrears forms which were approved for payment and were not effected.
3. Assure us as to when we shall be paid our salary arrears.
Hopefully, you will treat us equally with those other teachers who have received their salary arrears.
