KCC’S Danish coach Jan Fray will this week help in identifying the talent he will use for the 2002-3 season.

Club sources revealed yesterday that the executive resolved to first get Fray’s views on the squad before trimming it down.

Fray, who has been observing KCC’s recruits at Lugogo since Friday, will this week also have a chance to study the old players. Fray is however yet to sign with the club.

“We do not want a situation where we will regret after dropping good players,” said the KCC source.

An executive meeting is expected by the weekend to also set the new date for the club’s polls. A decision was not reached on the assembly at the last executive meeting on Saturday.

Club chairman James Ssegane and his executive last week bowed to fans’ pressure and accepted to have the belated KCC polls this month.

KCC fans, who last had a general meeting in December 1999 at Ssegane’s election, urgently want an assembly to effect constitutional changes.

A group of the fans have threatened to secede because of what they say is poor administration. KCC last won the league title in 1997.

  • THE Kenya Football Federation has cleared Kenyan striker Vincent Tendwa to play for Ugandan champions SC Villa.

This follows a FUFA request for the player’s International Transfer Certificate.

Before heading for Villa, Tendwa had sneaked into Rwanda where he played without KFF’s blessings before Villa spotted him.

While in Kenya, Tendwa helped Coast Stars rise to the top of the league.
