The loser of an election petition for the Bukomansimbi parliamentary seat in Masaka, Hajji Idi Lubyayi Kisiki, has began soliciting for votes.

Kisiki, who was declared unfit for the post by the high court and court of appeal which found his academic papers wanting, says he has acquired the necessary papers.

He told residents at Buyoga Parents Primary School in Kibinge subcounty recently, that he acquired the genuine academic papers which were missing during his court case.

He said he got them from Kenya. He said he was ready to stand again and appealed to his supporters to vote for him.

His intentions to stand again had drawn mixed feelings in the constituency. A section of the Movement supporters said they were not ready to waste the votes again, while others were convinced by Lubyayi’s announcement and said they would back him.

Others aspirants include Lubyayi’s former rival and DP man, Morris Kagimu Kiwanuka, who beat Kisiki twice in court. Others are a Kampala lawyer, Salim Makeera and former district youth councillor Luzige Ssekkoba.
