UGANDA, Tanzania and South Africa won back to back titles on Saturday at the International Communities Schools Sports tournament at Lincoln International School on Entebbe road.
Lincoln were double winners in the girl’s football finals denying rivals American International School of Johannesburg (AISJ) a clean sweep. Nicky Farmer buried the South African school with a late goal to seal the trophy for the second year in a row.
Farmer also ended as the top scorer in the girl’s tournament with ten goals. AISJ registered a similar score through the boy’s topscorer Terje Forbord to humble International School of Tanganyika (IST).
Forbord ended the tournament with 12 goals to his credit helping his school to remarkable back to back crowns.
Lincoln boys finished third after winning a nerve cracking penalty shootout against International School of Kenya (ISK).
IST repaid back AISJ when they met in a repeat final in the boy’s volleyball tournament grinding a 3-2 win. IST took the first set 25-17, then lost the next two 20-25, 22-25 and then wrapped the last two 25-8 and 15-8. Harare International School (HIS) upset defending champions IST in the girl’s volleyball finals 3-0.
The three-day tournament attracted over 160 boys and girls from six African countries.Ends
