BOTSWANA Vultures descend this week on a very much alive Uganda Rugby Cranes.
The Vultures arrive in Kampala on Thursday for the Six Nations Confederation of Africa Rugby (CAR) final.
Ugandan rugby is on a high, after recent successes against former powers Cameroon and Kenya.
Kampala Rugby Union Football Club (KRUFC) at Lugogo will on Saturday be the venue for this intriguing match up.
National coach Yayiro Kasasa revealed that the national squad is ready to take on the Vultures.
“The boys have gone through various drills and their performance during the trials indicate that they are in top form to meet the rivals.”
Rugby manager Herbert Wafula confirmed a contingent of 22 players and three officials are expected and are booked in the Sheraton Hotel.
Wafula revealed that South African CAR referee Louis Msomba will officiate the game while Swaziland rugby boss Michael Collinson will be the match commissar.
Msomba officiated the preliminary tie between Uganda and Cameroon last September.
Meanwhile, preparations at KRUFC are in top gear, as the club gets set to host their second international in three months.
A drainage system has been finalised while the ground is also being refurbished. Dressing rooms and the gym have got a face lift.
Bell Lager handed KRUFC sh13m to help in the upgrading of the club facilities, while Mango has chipped in with sh5m.

- A common theme linked Europe’s clean sweep over the big three southern hemisphere nations in the opening exchanges of the northern autumn international season on Saturday.
Reversing nearly 100 years of rugby tradition, France, England and Ireland defeated South Africa, New Zealand and Australia respectively through their forward packs.
