Scouts Boss Here To Recruit More

The Africa Regional Director for the World Organisation of the Scout Movement arrived in Uganda on Wednesday to start the implementation of a US$10m development plan in which more youth will be encouraged to join scouting.

The Africa Regional Director for the World Organisation of the Scout Movement arrived in Uganda on Wednesday to start the implementation of a US$10m development plan in which more youth will be encouraged to join scouting.
Maj. Kinuthia Murugu, accompanied by the officer in charge of community development, Gathogo Ngugi, were welcomed at Entebbe airport by the scouts commissioner, Nalongo Namusisi and several scouts.
“I am here because the African Regional Scouts headquarters has formulated a 10-year plan and I am in Uganda to see this plan started,” Murugu said, adding that his office was working on generating resources to develop scouting in Africa.
He is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister, Prof Apolo Nsibambi, the Ministers of Education and that in charge of youth among other government officials. Ends
