MARGARET Nakintu battled high altitude to finish fourth in the Safari international 10km women road race in Iten, Kenya over the weekend.

MARGARET Nakintu battled high altitude to finish fourth in the Safari international 10km women road race in Iten, Kenya over the weekend.
Nakintu, the sole Ugandan entrant, crossed the finishing line in 35:20.0 minutes behind a 1-2 Kenyan sweep Saturday.
Josephine Deemay led the Kenyan charge in 34:37.3 followed by Irene Kosgei at 34:44.0. Tanzania’s Hellen Kimai was third at 34:46.0.
The meet drew 30 teams from Mauritius, Morocco, Scotland, Spain and Netherlands.
Meanwhile, in Nigeria Francis Yiga romped home 12th in the MTN Lagos international marathon.
He was timed 71:56 in the race won by Kenyan Paul Kosgei.
