OVER 200 signposts and billboards have been removed in the ‘Keep Kampala Clean’ operation that was extended to illegal and unsightly billboards in the city.

OVER 200 signposts and billboards have been removed in the ‘Keep Kampala Clean’ operation that was extended to illegal and unsightly billboards in the city.
The operation which kicked off in October this year is still on, the chairman of the city outdoor advertising commission Simon Muhumuza said on recently.
“The operation is still on. All billboards and sign posts that have dilapidated will be removed,†Muhumuza, who is also Kampala City Council (KCC) spokesperson said.
However many companies or individuals have failed to re-claim their billboards, sheds and signposts. Muhumuza said KCC will advertise and call the owners to collect their billboards but if the deadline elapses, they will be auctioned.
