ALL hell broke loose in Gaba last Friday when a Korean family asked their shamba boy to slaughter a dog, which they were to eat on celebrations to mark one of the family member's birthday.
Michael Okot, the shamba boy, said that his master, Lee Lynn, asked him to slaughter a huge Bull-dog which he knew all along was kept as a security dog and not for feasting. When he rejected to do that hoping it was a joke, Lynn got a sharp knife, and chopped off the dog’s head and blood split all over the compound.
Okot made an alarm for fear of his dear life when he thought that next it would be him to face the knife. Neighbours come to his rescue only to find other Koreans busy skinning the beast for a feast.
Okot nearly beat his boss for making him eat dog meat which is a taboo. In Africa, dogs are only used for security and hunting.
Lynn had to pay a fine of sh500,000 to Okot to settle the case out of court. He also apologised to his neighbours. Ends
