AS Christmas nears, the Inspector General of Police, Katumba Wamala, has warned the public to expect increased crime but said his force will be ready to deal with it.

He said, “Usually at Christmas, the city and the countryside get wild as some people want to make more money at the expense of others. Look out for criminals and report all suspicious cases to the nearest Police Station,” he said.

He urged the public to co-operate with the Police and curb the increasing crime rates.

The Police chief was speaking at the award of “Safest driver of the year 2002”, at the Uganda Museum in Kampala on Friday.
