KAMPALA — The army on Thursday said the Christmas period passed peacefully in Gulu, Kitgum and Pader districts. The army said 16 rebel captives were rescued during Christmas while a total of 112 people were rescued between December 20 and December 26. The 4th Division spokesman, Lt. Paddy Ankunda, said 28 rebels and two soldiers were also killed.
