By Ronnie Kintu The duel is on. And it promises thrills galore. The hurly burly's done and Uganda's finest all weather wickets will echo the cheers and wholf-whistles of enthusiastic supporters tomorrow. The breath-taking battle will be between the national under 19 teams of Uganda and a combination of West Africa marking the beginning of the spectacular ICC Africa under-19 tournament tomorrow at Lugogo oval. World cup materials Kenya and Namibia will also meet tomorrow at Kyambogo oval. Kampala's nippy air will reverberate as Uganda captain Kenneth Kamyuka and his counter part from West Africa go to the middle for the toss in the morning. The five-day event, one of the leading on the ICC development calendar brings together ten nations for battle Royale on the re-done Lugogo and Kyambogo wickets. Most of the teams from wide and far West Africa, down to Tanzania, Malawi and Zambia arrived here yesterday and will be hosted to a welcome party Speke Hotel's Rock Garden cafe this evening. All teams have practice matches today morning before the 'D' day. This tournament means a lot to Uganda. It will inject some foreign exchange into an economy already down on its knees; it will also boost the morale of local cricket playing community. Uganda hosts the tournament for the first time. Much focus initially will be on the Namibia vs Kenya match, two of the countries that participated in last years' ICC U-19 world cup in Sri Lanka. If fancied Namibia wins the match against Kenya; the tournament will become stiffer. Kenya is not competing to qualify for World Cup. That powers that be are praying that Uganda beats West Africa tomorrow. The tournament is run on a round robin basis. Ends.
