By Florence Nakaayi PARENTS of a girl allegedly defiled by a 14-year old boy, on Tuesday, appeared in Kampala City Council (KCC) Court to testify against the accused. The father and aunt testified that the boy, (name withheld) defiled their child. The boy is charged with indecent assault. The girl's father told Court that his daughter was defiled but when they went to the police surgeon he said she had not been defiled. The father later took the surgeon's report to the Police officer who was working on the case because he doubted. He was given another officer who examined the girl and proved that shewas defiled. However, the girl's aunt of the girl told court that the accused's sister said her brother had defiled their child. The accused, a pupil of Kiwatule Primary School appeared before Grade Two Magistrate James Magoola and was granted court bond of sh600,000. His sureties were bonded shs1m each. Earlier, prosecution had said the accused committed the offence on November 11, 2000 at Kiwatule in Kampala where he unlawfully and indecently assaulted the victim by removing her knickers. A Police statement stated that the boy had forced the girl to have sex with him. He was also found with the victim's knickers while she was crying. The statement says the boy had been charged with defilement but the doctor changed it to indecent assault because the victim was taken for the medical examination after several days. Ends.
