By Geoffrey Kamali A GROUP of professional women have said they will campaign for President Museveni for another term for empowering Ugandan women. The group, Women's Movement for the Return of Kaguta-Museveni (WORK), said yesterday they will not sit back and watch their gains "go down the drain." "It is our initiative and concern as women that this country does not go back to where it was. We will be involved in supporting him to bring peace, even to areas where it is not," they said. They were meeting at their Kisementi offices. They said Ugandan women are more recognised compared to their counterparts in other parts of the world. "We have a woman vice president, women MPs, LCs and women councils. We have our own bank accounts and have big money," they said. WORK comprises professionals in business, women organisations, councils, NGOs women MPs and representatives from all districts. Mrs. Jacqueline Mbabazi, a member of the group, said they have a membership of over 10,000 people, countrywide. Mrs. Janet Museveni is also part of the group. Other members are Mary Karooro Okurut, Prof. Victoria Mwaka, Hope Mwesigye, Miria Matembe, Fiona Egunyu, and Margaret Kakitahi. Ends.
