By Daniel Saire NILE Breweries chief executive director Henry Rudd (Right) has asked SC Villa, Express and KCC to go for round table talks over their sponsorship deals. He said it was unfair for the three clubs to have rushed to the press over the Nile Special Super League sponsorship without first using the available right channels. "I would be happy to meet and we discuss with them about their grievances other than just reading from the press," he said. Rudd also said that FUFA had not informed him officially about the VEK move. The three big clubs through their umbrella, VEK (Villa, Express, KCC), recently denounced the NSSL deal and said they had pulled out of it. They argued that the money was to little for them to maintain the teams. The three clubs also said they had secured their own sponsors to help them compete in the league. But Rudd said their move to discard the NSSL was unfair. He pointed out that the NSSL agreement provides for teams to get other sponsors on top of Nile Breweries. "That is why we left a lot of space on the jerseys of players where such sponsors can also advertise," he said. The agreement however bars teams from getting sponsors who are direct competitors with Nile Breweries. Meanwhile, Nile Breweries has sponsored a one-day workshop for soccer administrators, referees and USPA on Friday at Samalien hotel in Wandegeya. Rudd said the workshop would review last year's NSSL and suggest ways of improving it. He said he would use this meeting to discuss with the managers of Villa, Express and KCC about their complaints. FUFA press officer Waibale Jr said several papers are to be presented at the workshop by various stakeholders. The meeting begins at 8.20am. Ends.
