By Nicholas Kajoba PRESIDENTIAL candidate Muhammad Kibirige Mayanja has promised to introduce free medical services for all. Addressing a rally in Lugazi town on Saturday, Kibirige said most people in rural areas die due to luck of proper medical care. Kibirige, on his campaign trail in Mukono, also held rallies at Njeru, Buikwe and Mukono town. He said his government will ensure equal distribution of health centres and drugs. "It is my concern once elected to presidency to see that all people get free medical care so that the poor in villages do not die due to minor sickness", he said. He also attacked President Museveni accusing him of failing the Universal Primary Education Programme saying that he was the architect of the scheme. He said he will provide bursaries to secondary school students. In Mbiiko Kibirige Mayanja promised to give more priorities to girls' education if elected, reports Abubaker Mukose. He said he would construct girls' schools in every district to increase the opportunities and accessibility to quality education. He said mixed schools were a cause of rampant drop-outs of girl-children as they are tempted to begin early sex life. "Girl children have been haunted by a number of factors more especially early promiscuity that subsequently lead to early pregnancies," Kibirige told the crowd. To check the impending threat, Kibirige said girls should be confined in single sex schools because research has established that they perform better. Ends
