Heart Boy Seeks Help

By Elizabeth Kameo A 13-year old heart patient, Henry Takirambudde,(pictured above) is seeking financial assistance to travel to India for a heart operation. According to a letter from Dr. John Omagino, of the Uganda Heart Institute Mulago hospital, "Takirambudde requires valve replacement because his heart chambers have enlarged and are functioning poorly." Omagino said Takirambudde, was born healthy but developed heart complications three years ago. He is a student of Victory centre Ndeeba. Takirambudde requires US$12,000 to cover his medical bills, travel expenses and his subsistence and the accompanying nurse. Plans to take Takirambudde for a heart operation in South Africa, failed as funds were not available and operation costs in South Africa were higher than in India. Ends
