By Charles Wendo ALLIANCE Francaise and the Uganda Women Writers' Association (Femrite) have produced the first ever directory of Ugandan writers. The directory, published with the support of the New Vision, will be launched on Tuesday at the French Embassy on Plot 16, Lumumba Avenue, Kampala, at 6:00pm. Alliance Francaise director Gilles Laborde (pictured right) yesterday said the 75-page directory would enhance the revival of Ugandan literature. He said 300 copies would be donated to libraries while the rest would be sold by Femrite. He said Alliance Francaise would not make any money from the publication. "The fact that there is a new generation of creative writers shows that the country has a lot of things to express," he said. Femrite chairperson Mary Karooro Okurut said the directory was a promotional tool for Ugandan writers. Ends
