By Justin Moro THE Government is committed to disarming the Karimojong warriors so that peace prevails in the region bordering Karamoja. The state minister for higher education, Mrs. Betty Akech Okullu, on Thursday told a rally at Patongo market, Agago in Pader district, "Parliament has passed the budget and the process to disarm the Karimojong has started." She was answering a question asked by a resident of the area who said the disarmament was Museveni's ploy to get votes from Agago which has suffered at the hands of the Karimojong cattle rustlers. State minister told the people that the government had sent in extra UPDF troops and more were being ferried to Karamoja to carry out the disarmament. The rally was also addressed by the minister of state in the ministry of education, Alfred Omony Ogaba, and Alphonse Owiny Dollo, MP for Agago county in Pader district. Ends.
