By Peter Ekarot and Agencies FUFA is in frantic efforts to get $25,000 (sh46.2m) to deposit in CAF after the payment deadline was switched to mid February from today. Federation spokesman Godfrey Kisekka disclosed that FUFA has asked FIFA to advance them $50,000 (sh92m) to clear the CAF money, other debts and use the rest for youth development projects. The advance is from the annual $250,000 (sh450m) development grant given by FIFA in a four-year phase 1999-2002. "CAF deadline is extended to mid-February but teams would only be barred if 70% of the African members have paid up then. "We have asked FIFA for an advance to clear the CAF dues, pay other debts and use the balance for development projects," said Kisekka. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) decided last year that its members deposit $25,000 for air-tickets for match officials to handle continental inter-club competitions and Africa Nations Cup qualifiers. CAF had earlier given all its members until today to pay up the money. SC Villa is in the champions' league, KCC for Abiola CAF Cup and Military Police entered in Africa Cup Winners Cup. Cranes is still battling for a place in next year's Nations Cup finals in Mali. Ends.
