Muhangi, Lumala set

By Douglas Mazune FORMER African champion Charles Muhangi has joined big gun Moses Lumala in the second NRC event that is set for his "home turf" of Mbarara. Muhangi will be seeking to avenge defeat by Emma Katto at the Garuga sprint on Sunday. Katto is yet to confirm his participation in the Mbarara Motor Club organised rally. He has promised to find time off his busy business schedule, to compete in the event due February 23-24. Muhangi in a Subaru Impreza 'Ekitaguriiro' joins Caltex sponsored Moses Lumala (Toyota Celica ST185) and upcoming Ponsiano Lwakataka in a Subaru Legacy in the race. Kuku Ranjit whose Subaru Impreza is now in shape, Chipper Adams (Mitsubishi Evo5) and national champion Charlie Lubega in a Mitsubishi Evo4 are expected to join soon. It is the first time a NRC event is being organised by a motor sport club outside Kampala. The rally will cover Mbarara and Rukungiri districts. Officials from Kampala are in Mbarara to assist. Ends
