Awori Blames Byanyima

By Nicholas Kajoba PRESIDENTIAL candidate Aggrey Awori has blamed Mbarara Municipality MP Winnie Byanyima saying that she is using Dr. Kizza Besigye to achieve her selfish goals. "When I was in Parliament I used to say that lets scrap Graduated Tax in the country. But Winnie Byanyima could say that Awori is crazy. Then after she decided to marry Besigye in order to achieve her selfish goals, they go around saying that Graduated Tax should be abolished,'' Awori said. He was addressing supporters in Lugazi town on Sunday. He matched through the streets of Lugazi town with supporters singing a slogan which depicted him as "the breaker of the hammer." Awori, flanked by his campaign manager for Mukono district, Mr. Bitek, said that President Yoweri Museveni and Col. Kizza Besigye "are the same and they all fought using a gun to topple the past government." He said, "You should vote a person like me because President Museveni and Besigye used the gun to come to power and they are all corrupt.'' Awori promised to provide safe and piped water in all towns in the country adding that some of the presidential candidates were copying his manifesto. He said that once he is elected to the presidency, he will scrap taxes on electricity, parrafin and water so that the rural people can have access to cheap commodities. "Most of the rural people cannot even move because government has put high taxes on paraffin and water. But once I win, all those will be abolished,'' he said. Ends
