PRESIDENTIAL candidate Aggrey Awori has said he has doubts and fears that the Electoral Commission (EC) might not read out the election results clearly to the public, reports Kezio D. Musoke. Awori recently told The New Vision that he was also worried about the current election violence which, he said, might pre-empt the army to intervene during the elections. He was reacting to President Yoweri Musev-eni's recent remarks about the arrest of the youth MP for the West, Maj. Okwir Rabwoni. Museveni reportedly said, "We are going to defend Uganda with or without the police." Awori said, "I am afraid that the elections might abort. Two people, President Museveni and Col. Kizza Besigye whose competition is personal and military, are responsible for the violence." He said this explains why Museveni's brother Maj. Gen. Salim Saleh recently said the UPDF may step in if the Police failed to keep order. "What the presidents brother said about the army intervening, is not a surprise to me. I have serious doubt and fears that the outcome of the elections might not be announced," he said. Ends
