By Simon Peter Ekarot THE commanding officer in Nakasongola barracks, Col. Nelson Katagara, has barred agents of presidential candidate Col. Kizza Besigye from entering the barracks where there were four army polling stations. Katagara only allowed in agents for President Yoweri Museveni, Chaapa Karuhanga, Aggrey Awori, Kibirige Mayanja and Francis Bwengye. The Chief Administrative Officer, who is also the Returning Officer of Nakasongola district Chrizestom Kayise, told The New Vision that he was going to the polling stations in the barracks to find out why Besigye's agents were barred from entering. In Kalikoma polling stations, ballot papers got finished and by press time, many voters had not voted but were told to keep around so that the Electoral Commission is contacted for more. Kayise sent a report to the Electoral Commission requesting for more cards but by press time, the commission had not sent back any reply. However, Kayise drove off to other polling stations to check whether they had more cards. He said the voter turn-up in the 136 polling was okay and peacefully despite the limited number of the ballot papers. He said 60, 172 voters had registered. Ends
