By Nicholas Kajoba THE Police in Lugazi have rescued a seven-year-old girl, who was tortured and kept in a house for over three days by her parents without treatment. Margaret Nakabugo is the daughter of Samuel Mugisha and step- daughter to Rehema Nankiga, residents of Masindye village, Buikwe sub-county in Mukono district. Mugisha and his wife allegedly beat up Nakabugo and poured burnt plastic on her. A combined force of Police and local councillors of the area, stormed Mugisha's home on Sunday, after a tip off by their neighbour that the Mugishas had hidden in their house, their child whom they had tortured. "We got a tip off from one of their neighbours. So we organised ourselves and brought Police from Lugazi to carry out the rescue mission," an LC official speaking on condition of anonymity said. Police in Buikwe said the couple last year, tortured the same girl but were forgiven by the police, after they promised not to torture the child again. It is not known what the kid did. Ends
