PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has said Mbarara Municipality MP Winnie Byanyima will be quizzed by the Police for alleging on Kenya Television (KTN) that Uganda was training and arming the interahamwe to attack Rwanda, reports John Kakande. "She is a liar and I am sure the CID are waiting for her to come back. She will have to show us where those interahamwe are. She is a big liar, that lady. But this is a bad lie which she will have to answer for," said Museveni while answering a question during a press conference yesterday. "We have been ignoring many of her nonsensical statements but this one the law will not ignore," Museveni said adding, "This is an insult, we supported Mr Kagame and his group, we paid a big price to support them so that they survive the regime of Habyarimana." Meanwhile, the foreign affairs ministry and the Movement Secretariat yesterday attacked Byanyima for making "reckless and irresponsible," remarks on KTN about Museveni, report Felix Osike and Richard Mutumba. Byanyima was on Tuesday reported to have told KTN that Museveni was arming and training the interahamwe genocidaires to attack Rwanda and DRC. In a statement to Parliament yesterday, state minister for regional cooperation Amama Mbabazi said, "the Movement government cannot aid and/or be associated with an organisation with such an obnoxious record." He said a transcript of the interview had been requested and he would present a copy to the House. Ends
