BY william muwonge EXPRESS foursome, including skipper George Semogerere were dropped from the Cranes team preparing to face the Togo Hawks on June 2. Goalkeeper Sam Kawalya, forwards Ibrahim Buwembo and Mathias Kaweesa were also shown the exit. A 20-man team composed mainly of youthful players was named yesterday ahead of the Group Five game. Semogerere was vociferous in his support for Cranes coach Harrison Okagbue last month after the Nigerian came under fire from the FUFA technical committee after the 3-0 defeat in Dakar. It was the same commitee, headed by Polly Ouma, that sat yesterday to name the team. Ouma said said the players are expected to assemble in Jinja for residential training on May 17. He said coaches Okagbue, Leo Adraa, physician Fred Mukasa and team manager Sam Kabugo will join the team. Philip Obwiny will take over as skipper. Obwiny, goalie Ibrahim Mugisha, defenders Edward Kalungi and Wilber Musika are senior players on the team. Ouma said the team promoters Euromarkint will cater for the team's allowances. Uganda has to beat Togo by at least five goals. This would work if Senegal, who have already qualified for the Mali 2002 finals upset Togo in Lome. Cranes are bottom of the group with one point whileTogo have four. The team: I. Mugisha, P. Omony, W. Tamale, R. Malinga, J. Kisha, T. Batabaire, P. Obwiny, W. Musika, R. Apangu, E. Kalungi, A. Bironse, N. Kasule, M. Nsubuga, J. Kidega, H. Mubiru, J. Kyambadde, F. Okello, H. Magumba, M. Byekwaso, A. Kadogo. Ends
