Golf novices to boost UWESO orphans

THIRTY teams including The New Vision have registered for the Bell Lager Charity golf tournament that tees off tomorrow morning at Uganda Golf Club, Kitante course.

By Douglas Mazune THIRTY teams including The New Vision have registered for the Bell Lager Charity golf tournament that tees off tomorrow morning at Uganda Golf Club, Kitante course. The competition organised to fundraise for Uganda Women Effort to Save Orphans (UWESO) is dubbed 'Strike an eagle for orphans'. Sales and marketing manager David Waweru who is the Total Corporate golf champion will lead The New Vision team which has sports editor Louis Jadwong, acting corporation secretary Robert Kabushenga and advertising manager Alex Natukunda. British American Tobacco Uganda, Shell Uganda, British Airways, CitiBank, British High Commission (two teams), Sabena, Celtel, Monitor and Nile Hotel are among organisations in the competition. The draw of the Uganda Breweries sponsored competition will be released today. "The response is very good, we are already doing the draw," a UBL official said yesterday. Ends
