Kasese women insist on affirmative action

SIR-On behalf of Kilembe subcounty women's desk and on my own behalf, I wish to congratulate president-elect Yoweri Museveni on his victory in the March 12 election and the petition which tried to counter that win. My message urges the current and future governments to respond to the following issues of pivotal concern: l Enactment of the Domestic Relations Bill to protect Ugandan families. * Enactment of the Land Bill to include co-ownership of land by spouses. * Establishment of the equal opportunities commission. * Enactment of the law against sex related offences. * Enactment of the law against gender violence. The Kilembe subcounty women's desk will continue to advocate for women's rights, issues and concerns. For it is for these women that the government exists. Margaret Mbabazi wa Nyakairu Kilembe Ends
