5 heads of state expected today

FIVE Presidents and several representatives from various countries will be attending the swearing-in ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni's second five-year term.

By Grace Matsiko FIVE Presidents and several representatives from various countries will be attending the swearing-in ceremony of President Yoweri Museveni's second five-year term. Arriving in the country today will be the Libyan leader, Col. Moamer Gadhaffi, the President of Kenya, Daniel arap Moi, that of Tanzania, Benjamin Mkapa and for Burundi, Maj. Pierre Buyoya, according to a statement from State House last evening. "The President of Zambia H. E. Frederick Chiluba, also coming to attend the function, will arrive on Saturday morning," the statement added. Other countries will be sending representatives. Mozambique will be represented by the minister of youth and sports, Mr. Libombo, while Senegal and Ghana will send special envoys, Ambassador L. Papa Fall and Ambassador F. Poku respectively. The New Vision could not establish if Rwandan President Paul Kagame, that of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, Joseph Kabila of DRC, Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe and Sam Nujoma of Namibia would attend or send a representatives.
