By John Thawite in Kasese THE army yesterday said it had killed three Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) chief commander, Abdallah Yusuf Kabanda's bodyguards. "We hit Kabanda's guards in the eastern DR Congo areas of Buhira, Kiribata and captured Abdula Nasser, Kabanda's brother-in-law," said the acting UPDF 2nd Division commander, Lt. Col. Tumusiime Nyakaitana. Nyakaitana, who is based in Mbarara, said Nasser was the brother of the ADF's financial controller, Falcon Kyeyune. Kyeyune's father is a Ugandan of Yemeni origin and his mother hails from Pallisa district. "We also seized a generator and a satellite communications battery from Nasser," Nyakaitana said. Recently, the army killed Kabanda's chief guide, Wilson Kireru, a.k.a. Kilama and his chief of intelligence, Muloberyo Mukyeza Watoto. Those captured are more than eight. They include the ADF chief director of records, Hajji Sadat Kinobe and the senior armoury man, Moses Kakaire alias Hussein Vimbe, two women commanders, Hadijah Nalubega and Nambalirwa, from Kampala and Mpigi districts respectively. Major Adula Mawa Muhindo, the 13th battalion commander and co-ordinator of the army's operations in Mutwanga, Lhume and the Virunga National Park in eastern DRC, said they took Kabanda's clothes. "Kabanda was not far from the scene. We have sealed off the place," he said. Ends
