SIR-In your briefs on page 3 of The New Vision of May 7, certain statements were attributed to the Tieng Adhola, Mr Moses Owor. The facts are as follows: It was the women crusading for the modification or abolition of bride price that argued that it was outmoded and was the cause of much of the domestic violence in Padhola. The Tieng Adhola counselled the crusaders that dowry was so deeply entrenched among the Jopadhola that its modification would require wide consultations and sensitisation of the masses rather than a confrontational approach.
