By Geoffrey Kamali THE Executive Director of the Centenary Rural Development Bank, Mr. Dirk Van Hook, died after falling from the second floor of the bank offices on Entebbe Road in Kampala, on Saturday. Hook, 54, died on arrival at Nsambya Hospital where he had been rushed after sustaining a deep gush on his head. His body was later taken to Mulago Hospital mortuary for a postmortem. Police spokesman Eric Naigambi said they were investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. "If anything criminal is suspected, Police will definitely intervene. We expect them to file a report about the death," Naigambi said. But bank officials said the American national was descending the steps from his office when he missed one of them and tumbled down, crashing his head on a concrete cement wall. "By the time we arrived at the scene, he was lying on the ground, bleeding through the nose, ears and mouth," the city main branch manager, Dismus Wandera, said. Hook's wife arrived at the mortuary after she was informed. Hook succeeded Eberhard Grauer, who was found dead in his house in the city last year. Ends
