By James Bakama & M. Nampala in Jinja. CHRIS Mutebi missed a brand new Nissan Terrano but still had something to smile about as he emerged club Pilsner Jinja open golf champion. The handcap-12 Jinja golfer carded 70 on the decisive day for a total of 144 nett to finish ahead of 68 compititors in the two day event jointly sponsored by Nile Breweries and MTN. But like all the other golfers, Mutebi failed to win a hole in one on hole 18 - feat that would have earned him the Nissa.n Mutebi,27, was however not sure of victory until the pressure group of Denis Anguyo, Juma jaffer, Mike Semafumu and Michael Odoi finished. Anguyo, the favourite, finished a stroke behind Mutebi who faltered on the last hole. Norah Mbabazi, h/c 5 again proved the best golfer in Uganda by winning the ladies contest with 156 nett. She pipped Tororo's Rose Wandera by a stroke. Anguyo, h/c 6 was consoled by the Group A top prize, while group B was won Patrick Byamugisha with 146 nett. Legend Sadi Onito fired 148 nett to age fellow veteran Juma Jaffer to third position at the par 72 lakeside course. Veteran Jaffer was day one leader. Sadi, a 12 time Uganda Open winner, said his performance was a warning to younger golfers to either work hard or surrender the top golf position this year. r A spectacular eagle fired Tiger Woods to a second European Tournament Players Championship success in three years on Sunday when a closing six-under-par 66 earned him a four-shot victory on 22-under-par 266. The title is his fifth European Tour title and 32nd victory worldwide. ends
