FPAU joins City Tyres U-14 league

By Fred Nangoli FAMILY Planning Association of Uganda (FPAU) is to co-sponsor the under-14 league along side City Tyres, a Kampala tyre firm. Ahmed Abdullah, director of City Tyres on Monday told The New Vision that FPAU was interested in getting involved in the expanded league to promote its interests to the young people. He revealed that FPAU was first interested in the league early last year. "Even last year they followed up the league to its climax," he said. Abdullah said details of the FPAU involvement in the junior league would be discussed at a press conference today. Kennedy Otundo of the FPAU in Kampala on Sunday said FPAU through City Tyres was interested in reaching out to the young people. He said by getting involved in such an expanded league, FPAU will reach out to the youth as regards sex reproductive health, rape, unwanted pregnancies, abortions and sexually transmitted diseases (STD). He said it was only through the under-14 junior league that they would reach out to the youth. The league kicked off four weeks ago and is going on at various places in the country. Ends
