By John Nzinjah FIGHTING almost broke out at Kasese district headquarters in Rukoki when nomination officials queried incumbent Busongora South MP Christopher Kyibanzanga's papers. "Kyibanzanga's names on the required documents for nomination do not tally and therefore questionable. We are consulting the Electoral Commission in Kampala for advice," Silver Mugyenyi, an electoral official in-charge of the western desk said. Kyibanzanga was later offered provisional nomination at 5.40pm amidst threats by his supporters to stone nomination officials and to blow up the building housing the office of the district returning officer, Hannington Syahuka. The supporters who became unruly and searched for stones and broke tree branches to start war, forced the Police guarding the place to stand on full alert. Mugyenyi, in an interview with The New Vision, said Kyibanzanga had different names on the voters register, academic documents and on the nomination papers. "We advised him in the morning when he came for nomination to go to court and swear an affidavit to ascertain that he is the person seeking nomination," Mugenyi said. Ends
