Museveni Meets Binaisa

FORMER President Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa, 81, has said he is ready to settle down to lead a new life as a farmer and a rancher.

By John Odyek FORMER President Godfrey Lukongwa Binaisa, 81, has said he is ready to settle down to lead a new life as a farmer and a rancher. A statement from Sate House said on Saturday Binaisa said this when he visited President Yoweri Museveni at State House Nakasero. Binaisa, a lawyer, expressed gratitude and appreciation to Museveni and the Government for the civility, kindness and assistance that have been extended to him since he returned to Uganda in April, after 14 years of self imposed exile in New York. Museveni welcomed Binaisa back home and said he was happy to see him back in Uganda looking well and healthy. Present at the meeting were state minister for Public Service in charge of Pensions, Benigna Mukiibi and state minister for Public Service in charge of General Duties Catherine Mavenjina. Binaisa fled to US after he was overthrown by Paulo Muwanga. Ends
